    What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a structured therapy that helps your brain process memories that still feel stuck, so they become less upsetting when they come up. During parts of a session, you briefly bring a memory to mind while following a back-and-forth rhythm, such as eye movements or gentle tapping. You stay awake and in control the whole time, and we go at a pace that feels manageable.

    Who it can help

EMDR is best known as a treatment for trauma and PTSD. It is also used for anxiety, grief, and other experiences that keep pulling you back to painful moments. In our consultation, we'll talk about whether EMDR is a good fit for you.

What a course of EMDR looks like

We start by getting to know your history and building skills to help you feel steady. Only when you're ready do we begin working with specific memories. We check in throughout and finish each session in a settled place.

EMDR is available in person and by secure video anywhere in Texas.

EMDRIA Certified

Being an EMDRIA Certified Therapist means I've completed additional training, consultation, and supervised experience in EMDR beyond the basic training, under standards set by the EMDR International Association.
